What it is
Bitcoin mining is using your computer's resources to generate and test data. In technical terms it is the process of generating blocks for the block chain, which is a way of processing and verifying transactions.
How it benefits the server
The main benefit that comes from mining will come in the form of improved customer service to you, the player; it will also increase the amount of services that the server can offer. By utilizing revenue to pay staff, they will be more able to attend to the more time-consuming issues. In addition, the server quality will improve for player and staff alike, and it will be more possible to maintain a high degree of integrity and neutrality towards direct donation issues.
The exact types of increases, and extent of those, will be subject to the degree of the mining's success. These increases will be noted at time of implementation / modification
How it benefits the player
In exchange for mining, players will be offered rewards based on their rate of success and participation in the program. The specific prizes will change each month, and said changes will be announced at the end of each following month. Lower tiers will receive more consumable items and novelty items, such as third job packets. Higher tiers will be offered custom headgears and other high end bonuses. There are 8 tiers of participation, and they are rated as follows:
- Top 1% (Tier I) -- 210 Tokens
- Top 5% (Tier II) -- 130 Tokens
- Top 10% (Tier III) -- 80 Tokens
- Top 25% (Tier IV) -- 50 Tokens
- Top 50% (Tier V) -- 30 Tokens
- Top 75% (Tier VI) -- 20 Tokens
- Top 90% (Tier VII) -- 10 Tokens
- All Participants (Tier VIII) -- 1 Token
Mining Rewards
You can use the tokens you earned in the previous month(s) to redeem prizes at the Token Redemption NPC located in Einbech.

How to participate
There are two types of mining that you can participate in: GPU or CPU. GPU mining is typically 50 - 200 times faster than CPU, as it uses your graphics card to run the computations. Obviously, this requires the use of an actual graphics card installed into your computer. For those that don't, the standard CPU mining is your only choice. The following steps show the procedure you must follow in order to begin your mining. More advanced settings and mining tools can be found at the bottom of this page.
How to get started
- BE SURE YOUR DRIVERS ARE UP TO DATE.
- If you have an ATI/AMD video card, you MUST download and install [this]
- Download the [mining software] here.
- Unzip the software.
- Insert your RebirthRO username and password into the respective text boxes. You can run the miner from different computers using the same username and password at the same time to gain more rewards. Your username and password are both case sensitive.
- Select the device you wish to use from the drop down menu. Using your graphics card will give you significantly faster gains than using your CPU, but the CPU option is available if you do not have a graphics card or do not wish to do it.
- Optional : If you're using a graphics card, enter -w 64 into the "extra flags" box. Doing so will decrease the rate of mining somewhat, but allow you to continue using other programs simultaneously without much impact.
Advanced setup for mining
NOTICE: Before running any command line program, you will need to type "cd", followed by the path name of the folder it is installed to.
CPU Miners
- Noticeably slower than GPU miners, but is the only option if you are lacking a graphics card

- To run this miner, type the following into a command prompt with your RebirthRO username and password in place of the words username and password
bitcoin-miner.exe -o http://hathor.rebirthro.com:8332 -u username -p password
GPU Miners
- Requires a discrete graphics card, either ATI or nVidia
- Significantly faster, up to 200x
- For ATI cards, make sure drivers are up to date and you have Stream SDK installed

- nVidia cards simply require up-to-date drivers
Recommended miners
- To run the DiabloMiner type the following into a command prompt with your RebirthRO username and password in place of the words username and password
DiabloMiner-Windows.exe -o hathor.rebirthro.com -u username -p password
- DiabloMiner can be forced to run at a lower speed and thus will interfere less with other activities. Just replace int witha number between 1 and 255. 64 is recommended, as it seems to be an advantageous combination of speed and low interference.
DiabloMiner-Windows.exe -o hathor.rebirthro.com -u username -p password -w int
- Roughly 5 - 10% faster than DiabloMiner, but doesn't run with all graphics cards. If it's unsuccessful, try the other one.
- To run the Phoenix miner, type the following into a command prompt with your RebirthRO username and password in place of the words username and password
phoenix.exe -u http://username:password@hathor.rebirthro.com:8332/
